Kebede H. Begna, MD – Dr. Begna an assistant professor and consultant hematologist, practicing at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He received his medical degree from Gondar University in Ethiopia. He finished internal medicine residency at St. Vincent Medical College, an affiliate of New York Medical College, where he was the Chief Resident. He completed hematology and medical oncology fellowship at the University of Minnesota, and later joined the Mayo Clinic, Division of Hematology in Rochester, Minnesota. He thought case-based hematology education and lead discussions via video connection to internal medicine residents to Gondar University. He frequently travels as visiting professor for case based teaching and grand rounds to Gondar University and to newly established multiple medical schools in Ethiopia.
Electron Kebebew, MD – Dr. Kebebew is a Professor and Chief at Stanford University Medical Center and an internationally recognized expert in Endocrine Oncology and Surgery. He has performed more than three thousand operations on the adrenal, parathyroid and thyroid glands, and for neuroendocrine tumors of the gastrointestinal tract and pancreas.
Dr. Kebebew has published over 400 articles, chapters and textbooks, and serves on the editorial board and as a reviewer for 54 biomedical journals. He has received awards from the American Cancer Society, American Association for Cancer Research, American Thyroid Association, American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, and International Association of Endocrine Surgeons.
Anteneh Habte, MD – Dr.Habte is currently serving as Chairman of People to People’s (P2P) Board of Directors. He is the Medical Director of the Community Living Center at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV and clinical faculty at both the West Virginia School of Medicine and the Lewisburg School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Anteneh is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and a certified educator of palliative and end-of-life care (EPEC). He coordinates People to People (P2P)’s effort to promote the training of medical personnel and provision of clinical services in hospice and palliative care in Ethiopia. Dr. Anteneh is one of the editors of a series of web-based modules in Hospice and Palliative Care for Ethiopia prepared under the auspices of the Mayo Clinic Global HIV Initiative. He is also a contributor to P2P’s recently published “Triangular Partnership” manuscript.
Dawit Wondimagengn Gebreamlak, MD – Dr. Gebreamlak is the dean of College of Health Sciences within Addis Ababa University. Before he held this position he was the leader and head of many programs. He is a practicing psychiatrist, and nominated multiple times by students as best teacher of the year. He is admired and liked by his peers. Dr. Gebreamalk is an Associate Professor, at the Department of Psychiatry, Addis Ababa University. He has done his undergraduate and postgraduate training at Addis Ababa
University. He is one of the early graduates of the Toronto Addis Ababa Psychiatry project. Dr. Gebreamlak is a young member council at the world psychiatrists association.
Enawgaw Mehari, MD – Dr. Enawgaw Mehari has a distinguished reputation concerning his leadership in healthcare, most notably as founder and president of People to People Inc., which has been in existence for approximately two decades. He is also internationally recognized as an expert in neurology, pain management, and Neuro-AIDs. He has been a frequent speaker at international conferences, published in works addressing different topics, authored chapters in books, and has worked among the authors of the Ethiopian medical history manual and Triangular Partnership and the Power of the diaspora. He earned his medical degree from Commenuis University in Czechoslovakia, he completed his neurology residence at University of Kentucky, finished his fellowship in pain management and neurophysiology at Case Western University in Cleveland, and completed another fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis in Neuro-AIDS as well.
Dr. Mehari has been instrumental in the establishment of different neurology residence programs, emergency medicine residence program at Black Lion Hospital, and Addis Ababa University’s Social Work Master program through his leadership at People to People Inc.
In 2005, He founded the Peoples’ Free Clinic in Morehead, Kentucky to provide free health care for the working poor.
In 2006, Dr. Mehari won a distinguished service award from the Society of Ethiopians Established in the Diaspora (SEED), and in 2007 he was nominated as a CNN Hero—awarded by the cable network to everyday
people around the globe who have made a major impact on the world. He was also awarded a Humanitarian Award by the Black Hall of Fame, as well as the 2010 Patient Advocate award by the American Academy of Neurology.
He has been granted the highest commendation and recognition by the KY governor’s office, Senate of the State of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He as also been commended by the US House of Congress, and was awarded the Abebe Bikila Award by Bikila Organization for his working community service.
Dr. Mehari is a diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry, a diplomat of Neurology Inc., and is a member Board of the American Board of Medical Specialties”

Micheas Zemedkun, MD – Dr. Micheas Zemedkun is a cardiologist at Washington Hospital Center and MedStar Medical Group in Washington, DC. He is a graduate of Harvard Medical School. He completed his training in cardiology and advanced echocardiography and structural heart disease at Georgetown University and Washington Hospital Center. Prior to coming to Washington, DC, he completed his internal medicine residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital/ Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Alex Habte Chere, MBA Teach For Ethiopia – Alex has several years of experience in management consulting, private sector development, marketing and business risk management. He earned his MBA from American University, Kogod School of Business, and worked for a number of reputable companies such as United Health Group, Deloitte and PWC.
Moreover, Alex has a passion for entrepreneurship and has been involved in the creation and development of for profit and non-profit enterprises. He is currently leading the effort to launch Teach For Ethiopia, an organization focused on developing collective leadership to end educational inequity in Ethiopia. Teach For Ethiopia is currently being supported by Teach For All, a growing global network of 48 independent organizations around the world.
Keith Parnell, J.D., CFCS – Keith Parnell, J.D., CFCS, is called to the bars of New York State (US), the Province of Ontario (Canada) and England & Wales (UK). He obtained his Juris Doctor while attending the University of British Columbia and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Keith also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Great Distinction) in Industrial Relations from McGill University. Keith has practiced law in various jurisdictions around the world including the Cayman Islands, Canada, the UK, and the US. His prior experience includes senior transaction counsel and advisory positions with MacKenzie Partners, Bayard, Maples and Calder, Tokyo-Mitsubishi and Clifford Chance. Keith has also held several board appointments including Sigma Finance Corporation. Prior to being called to the bar, he served as law clerk to the Associate Chief
Justice of the Federal Court of Canada. Keith has spent the last 2 years working on a special assignment with the Government of Canada and the State of Michigan in connection with the acquisition of US properties necessary for the construction of a US-Canada cross-border bridge being built in the Detroit-Windsor corridor funded by the Canadian government. Prior to this assignment, Keith had a mediation and arbitration practice and was a FINRA and NFA arbitrator, which he will return to in 2019. Keith has served in various roles at P2P, primarily on the legal, board development and philanthropic development fronts.
Dr. Melaku Demede M.D., MHSc, FACC, FSCAI – Dr. Demede is an Assistant professor of Medicine and consultant in Interventional cardiology, Cardiovascular Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology as well as Echocardiography practicing in the state of West Virginia.
He graduated from AAU faculty of Medicine in 1995 and completed internship, residency and fellowship from State University of NY Downstate Health Science Center Brooklyn, NY. He also completed Post graduation from Victoria University of Manchester in MHSc Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Currently, he is Chief of Cardiology and Medical Director of Cardiac Cath Lab in ARH Beckley, WV. Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine West Virginia University School of Medicine, Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine UK community Faculty, Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine WV DO School as well as Faculty for Lincoln Memorial University School of Medicine. Board Certified in Intervention Cardiology, Cardiovascular Medicine, Internal Medicine, Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology.
Dimitri Misailidis, MD – Dr. Dimitri Misailidis is a diagnostic radiologist in private practice since 1989 to current in Martinsburg, WV at the WV Medicine Berkeley Medical Center. He is a clinical associate professor at the West Virginia School of Medicine. His primary interest is Mammography and Nuclear Medicine. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Radiology and is currently a member of the American College of Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America.
He has done 2 years of undergraduate studies at Addis Ababa University prior to his medical school at the Aristotelian University in Salonica, Greece. His Radiology Residency was done at Howard University Hospital

His experience before co-founding IntelliMedia Networks includes managing software as a service (SaaS) cloud video platforms, desktop sharing hardware and software product lines at VBrick Systems,
social video distribution product management at Videoshare, and creating and managing innovative marketing tools at Sybase and Kanda Interactive. Teodros has managed and developed business relationships and integrated solutions with technology partners including Adobe, Akamai, PayTech, EMC, Telestream, Microsoft and Apple focusing on products in the financial, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, media, defense, civilian government agencies and higher education markets. Phil McComish – Phil McComish has been with the international education non-profit Teach For All since 2008, where he currently supports social entrepreneurs across Africa who are working to launch ‘Teach For’ programs and join the global network of 48 other countries. Phil started his career as a teacher with Teach First in the UK, where he taught high school French and German in London and was later a foreign correspondent for Thomson Reuters newswire in Brussels. Phil holds Masters degrees in French and German from the University of Cambridge (UK) and in European Politics from the College of Europe, Bruges (Belgium), and is based in Teach For All’s London office.
